Chief Dave Lamb is a 21 year veteran of the Michigan City Fire Department. As fire Chief he oversees all aspects of the Department. He will focus his efforts on providing the citizens of Michigan City a safe and wonderful place to live. By providing the best equipment available and highly trained, physically fit firefighters who are also good citizens and role models to the community. The Fire Department is just a part of the Michigan City family dedicated to saving lives and property for the citizens of Michigan City. It is an honor to be part of this family.

Deputy Chief Randy Novak is a 22 plus year veteran of the Michigan City Fire Department. His responsibility is to administer the functions of his division including direct supervision of the Battalion Chiefs, fire control, emergency medical service, public service, Fire Department personnel functions and is responsible for overall budgetary development for the Operations Division. The Operations Division is comprised of the Fire Suppression Division with all stations and manpower divided between three shifts.

Deputy Chief Charles Greis is a 28 year veteran of the Michigan City Fire Department. He oversees department operations budgeting, emergency medical service, public service, apparatus and equipment maintenance, MCFD facility maintenance and certain MCFD personnel functions.

Kyle Kazmierczak has many job responsibilities. Kyle serves as a fire code enforcement officer, fire investigation coordinator, fire permit enforcement officer, site inspector, and is responsible for the "Knox Box" program. Kyle is also responsible for all training, coordination, and management of our technical rescue team.

Training Officer Larry Butcher is a 17 year veteran of the Michigan City Fire Department. He oversees the departments' safety, training, and certifications. He also lectures the public in fire safety education to promote positive outcomes to serious conditions. He furthermore is the Fire Departments Public Information Officer and is the authority on the department's medical response to the city.

Jeff Santana is a 23-year
plus veteran of the Michigan City Fire Department. Jeff is in charge of the Public Education Division, which takes him anywhere from dealing with pre-k students through senior citizens. Jeff also assists in the inspection division, taking him into hundreds of businesses a year. He helps in the department's training division as well. Jeff's passion is educating the children in the schools and being out in the public to assist the safety issues of the community.

Established: 1861
With four station houses covering approximately 21 square miles, the Michigan City Fire Department is here to serve and protect 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All 85 firefighters are full-time fire professionals and are assisted by 2 civilian staff members. Based on our ability to provide excellent fire protection, we have received an ISO rating of THREE. This reflects the quality, dependability, reliability, and dedication of the MCFD to protecting our citizens.
